with hua hua
The floor offers a greater range of possibilities that can arise when not limited by the restrictions of suspension. Playing on the floor allows us to make each rope added, each change of position or even every decision based on the emotions and reactions of both top and bottom. In this sense, floor play allows us to tie from the heart and not only from the head.
This workshop will give an introduction to hua hua’s approach to floor play including how to build a scene, tie by following the reactions of the model and create progression where by the bottom is gradually subdued.
The workshop will begin with hua hua’s approach to Ipponnawa, one rope play, which will focus on breaking down rope to the smallest details so that we can focus on communication and intention. Following this we will explore how to incorporate uplines to elevate the play. Hua hua will then then demonstrate a floor play flow, a tying sequence. This will involve a step by step break down of the sequence, showing how to transition between different positions and emotional states in a fluid and seamless manner. And finally students will be given space to use the ties and techniques taught in the class to improvise. and finally students will be given space to use the ties and techniques taught in the class to improvise.
