with Mie Neko & Nikoleta Ginger

Discounted weekend package available for anyone wishing to attend the weekend workshop, tenshi class and performance!

Note: This workshop explores the pattern of the Tenshi tie. Although it will discuss options for using uplines with this harness, you are also welcome to take this workshop to learn the pattern and explore options for floor play.

Tenshi is a relatively new upper body harness in the history of shibari. Although it might appear extreme at first glance, with the arms bearing most of the load while the chest remains free, this harness is quite comfortable for most people. It doesn’t rely heavily on shoulder mobility, which can be an issue for many in our community, yet it still provides substantial support and offers multiple opportunities for play. The tie is very versatile and can be considered a 3-in-1 harness, allowing for various shapes and positions to be easily adjusted, on the floor, and even in mid-air.

We will delve deeply into the pattern of the Tenshi, understanding its advantages and disadvantages. We will also explore how to incorporate it into a session emotionally. For those who wish to suspend, the class will cover upline options for this tie and provide inspiration for different shapes and combinations in partial and full suspension, and use on the floor. We will also discuss potential issues and risks and how to address them.

  • If riggers wish to suspend during this workshop they should already be comfortable with upline management for partial suspensions, as these skills will not be explicitly taught during the workshop. You are however welcome to come and learn the harness and explore options for floor play if you are not yet ready for suspension. Proficiency in safe single column ties and efficient frictions is necessary to learn Tenshi.

Models should be able to differentiate between blood flow restriction and nerve impingement. Some experience with partial suspension will be beneficial, but not mandatory.
