with Ena Dahl & Kasia
Beyond knots and patterns, shibari can be an intimate dance between bodies, a conversation without words, a co-authored story.
In this beginner-friendly drop-in workshop, Ena and Kasia will guide you through the foundations of shibari with a focus on connection, presence, and sensuality. We see rope as a language—one that allows us to express, tease, seduce, and play. In this workshop, you’ll learn basic technical skills and how to apply them in a way that allows you to communicate through rope and create an immersive experience for yourself and your partner.
What to expect
This is a hands-on class where you’ll learn:
How to handle rope with confidence and fluidity
Basic knots and frictions needed to create simple structures on the body
The importance of tension, pace, and control
Body handling and techniques for creating a deep, sensual connection through rope
How to craft an easy yet meaningful session using these tools
Who can join?
No previous experience with rope is needed. Come solo, with a friend, lover, partner, or any other arrangement that feels right for you. While we focus on paired exercises, participants interested in self-tying are also welcome—just let us know in advance if you'll be coming alone or in an uneven group. Tickets are sold individually, so if you don't come with a partner and don't want to practice self-tying, we can help pair you with someone else.
Consent & Comfort
Shibari can be intimate, vulnerable, and bring out a lot of emotions. Throughout the workshop, we emphasize clear communication, enthusiastic consent, and personal boundaries. No exercise is mandatory and you will always have the choice to participate in a way that feels right for you.
What to bring & wear
Comfortable clothing, without zippers, metal, or underwire, that allows you to move freely.
Bring rope if you have it, or borrow some from our studio (there is also an option to purchase rope if you'd like to take it home)
There will be time to switch between tying and being tied, but if you prefer to stick to just one role, that is also welcome
