One day drop in workshop with Asimira and Tree Ropes. No rope, and no partner needed!
Interested in trying out shibari, but feeling unsure about where to begin, or whether you want to commit to regular classes?
Our drop in workshops for absolute beginners are the perfect place for you to get a taste of what rope bondage can be!
Starting out with shibari can be overwhelming. Rope bondage can be a very technical activity, but while sound technique is important to build a more advanced practice, you do not have to wait until then to be able to play and have fun in ropes.
In this workshop we will introduce some basic rope techniques and explore how to implement them in a playful way. We will focus on basic safety, how to build simple harnesses, how to move someone around on the floor and the way the person being tied can influence the scene.
Each of our teachers brings their own unique viewpoint to these workshops, aiming to communicate to you exactly what they personally love about shibari. This time, the workshop will be led by Asimira and Tree Ropes!
This class is ideal for people who have been curious about rope bondage and want to discover if it’s something they enjoy.
You don’t need to bring your own rope, as ropes are available in the studio to borrow or to buy—you can come partnered if you prefer, but are also very welcome to come alone and work in small groups or pairs with other participants.
For those of you who are interested in taking your practice further after this class, we offer a 6 week course which takes place every Tuesday evening—the next start date will be 7th January with Ena!
