Subtle Moves/Big Impact: Sensual Domination in ropes (for Those Who Tie Bigger Bodies)

  • Daruma Neukölln, Berlin Germany (map)

with Ena Dahl

Domination isn’t about sheer size or strength—it’s about presence, control, and the ability to command attention with intention. In this workshop, designed especially for those who (wish to) both tie and dominate partners who are bigger than themselves, we will explore ways to assert dominance with grace and confidence.

If you’ve been to body movement and handling classes taught by big riggers/men moving tiny bottoms around and making it look easy-peasy and been frustrated that these tricks are not working for you and your partner, this is for you. Your teacher, Ena, who gives professional Shibari sessions, mostly to men who are much bigger than herself will teach you that true power comes from knowing how to move, handle and direct energy efficiently, which sometimes means that you, as the rigger, will be moving around your bottom more than the other way around, and that you will have to plan and execute sessions in a way that requires less changing of positions for your bottom. With the right techniques, you can create deep submission in ropes without overexerting yourself.

What you will learn

  • Techniques for confidently tying and controlling larger partners on the floor

  • Movement and handling strategies that amplify dominance without relying on force alone

  • Sensual yet firm ways to create deep psychological and physical impact with minimal effort (and without having to raise your voice or wield the whip)

  • How to “train” your bottom to work with you and understand your signals

  • Ways to adapt positions and sequences for bottoms who cannot kneel (sit in seiza)

  • How to create a hot floor session with the tools above

Who is this for?

This class is open to all who want to refine their dominant skills in ropes. You may come with a partner of any size, though it can be especially useful to practice with someone larger than yourself. Switching is allowed if both parties consent, but there may not be enough time to switch in every exercise. You may come solo if you’re open to being paired with another single attendee, just let us know in advance if you'll be coming alone or in an uneven group.

Consent & power dynamics

Power play in rope is deeply personal, and we approach it with awareness, respect, and ongoing communication. The emphasis is on mindful dominance—rooted in intention rather than aggression. All exercises are voluntary, if something doesn’t work for you you’re free to skip or we’ll work together to find alternatives.

What to bring & wear

  • Comfortable clothing, without zippers, metal, or underwire, that allows you to move freely.

  • Bring rope if you have it, or borrow some from our studio (there is also an option to purchase rope if you'd like to take it home)

  • A willing bottom (or an open mind if you’d like to be paired with someone)
